Maramba River Camp

Introduction

 

An attractive all-year-round accommodation, ideally situated just 4km from Victoria Falls. Set in a shaded woodland which overlooks the Maramba river, the grounds are often host to elephants wandering through. A rock pool inspired by the surrounding nature provides a refreshing swim with a view of the river. The Restaurant and Bar occupy a beautiful spot and are wooden decked right on to the river. On site there is a laundry service, a children’s play-area and a booking office for local activities.  More intimate than the larger hotels Maramba River camp is a really exceptional choice for last minute safaris.

Accommodation

6 luxury safari tents offer the comfort of a lodge with the feel of camping. Tiled en-suite bathrooms with the addition of an open sky shower. Individually decorated, with hand-made furniture, elegant fabrics and mosquito netting. 

 

Private chalets are nestled amongst the trees under thatched roofs. With views over the river or floodlit waterhole affording a real on-safari feel. Each has a tiled en-suite bathroom, ceiling fan and safe. Small but welcoming safari tents offer en-suite bathrooms and mosquito netting under a thatch. The twin beds and deck are a perfect compromise between camping and room facilities.

The River Camp has five 3m x 3m Dome tents with a shared washing block and a covered sitting area overlooking the Maramba River. Ideal for groups, each has twin beds, electric light and lockable draw, perfect booking for last minute safaris. 

 

Dining

Guests can sample wholesome food served for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the Livingstone Restaurant. Its casual dress code and relaxed atmosphere compliment the international cuisines.

Activities

Book a guided canoe tour of the Zambezi, take in lunch on a nearby beach or even sundowners at sunset, and perhaps try your hand at fishing. Explore the Zambezi during sunrise or sunset on a boat trip.  From guided Bush Walks to open top vehicle Game Drives in Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, Victoria Falls Waterfront is ideally situated for you to see the Real Africa. Why not include a visit to Tujatane Trust School, indulge in the bazaar at Mukuni Park or take in Livingstone Museum. And of course no stay is complete without a trip to the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls.
