Mukambi Fig Tree Camp
for African Wildlife Safari in Kafue
Introduction
Mukambi Fig Tree Bush Camp is a new luxury bush camp in a remote undiscovered part of Kafue National Park. This luxury camp is only 1½ hours driving from Mukambi Safari Lodge and overlooks a large lagoon, which throughout the season attracts wildlife such as elephant, puku, impala, warthog, zebra, and hartebeest. Predators like lion, cheetah, leopard and hyena are regular visitors and the wild dog have been known to prey on the concentration of game.
Accommodation

Mukambi Fig Tree Bush Camp has tented accommodation on 3-meter platforms above the ground, giving a spectacular view over the lagoon and the plains towards the entrance of the camp. There are 4 en-suite luxury safari tents on stilts (2 twin and 2 double). Each tent overlooks the lagoon but also has a private view of the plains behind the camp offering unique opportunities to spot game. Each safari tent has an en-suite bathroom and veranda presenting a unique view from the tree canopy.

Dining

All meals are on a full board basis and are served centrally in the camp’s beautiful location.

Activities
​
Game drives are available twice a day. One departs at sunrise and the afternoon drive (partly a night drive) leaves at approximately 2 hours before sunset. Drives are 3.5 to 4 hours long. All vehicles are located in the park, which is a short boat trip across the Kafue River so game drives depart from within the park daily.
Safari Walks leave around an hour after sunrise to avoid the heat of the day. The walks take place in the Kafue National Park itself and are approximately 3 hours (unfortunately not available due to the wet conditions from approximately Dec to May).
