African Safari Experience and sister company Zambian Safari Experience, is the culmination of the founder, Steve Roberts' idea to bring a wider travelling audience to Sub Saharan African and encounter the fascinating cultures of the region. Such is his love of Zambia that part of his ethos was to Give Back to the place that has been his working passion.
Children's Learning Centre
Like many other African countries, there are difficulties for children, particularly those disadvantaged and/or left without parents and family. Steve's desire to do something beneficial for the local community has really come to the fore now that he has become involved in the Baobuyu Learning Centre in Livingstone, Zambia.
Initially sponsoring a child himself, gradually Steve has encouraged friends and family to sponsor children and keeps them up to date on how those children are progressing. This has then grown into trying to promote the sponsorship to a wider platform.
With this in mind, Livingstone is an ideal destination resort for African Safari Experience with the aim of enabling sponsors to visit the Learning Centre and really engage with the child they sponsor. We actively encourage you to see the benefits that your financial support makes to these children as well as opening the opportunity for people to volunteer.

Free Haven Community Initiative (FHCI) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) located in Livingstone, Zambia that has four main areas of focus: Education, Nutrition, Health, and Empowerment. In order for the Zambian NGO to be successful, a non-profit organization called Free Haven Community Initiative, Inc. was formed in America to assist its Zambian counterpart. By organizing fundraisers, processing donations, and handling marketing strategies, this partnership makes it possible for the Zambian-based NGO to carry out its day-to-day functions and focus on its primary goals.
Free Haven Community Initiative's mission is to empower vulnerable families in Zambia to break the cycle of poverty and promote gender equity by providing them with education, nutrition, health services, and empowerment programs.
We believe that every person is equal, deserves access to equitable opportunities as well as basic human rights, and should be treated with the same level of respect, regardless of their identity. We believe in fostering an inclusive, respectful, and indiscriminative environment that accepts every individual for who they are and empowers every individual, within the community, to cultivate the best version of themselves so that they can live up to their full potential. We believe in approaching every aspect of our work with good stewardship, priding ourselves in transparency and responsible use of our resources.
African Safari Experience was created to bring a wider traveling audience to Sub-Saharan Africa, allowing visitors to experience the region’s fascinating cultures alongside traditional touristic activities. A core part of our ethos is to give back to the communities and environments that make these experiences so special.
Livingstone is an ideal destination for African Safari Experience. Clients have the opportunity to visit Free Haven Community Initiative (FHCI), where they can engage with vulnerable children in FHCI’s sponsorship program. This experience highlights the tangible impact of financial support while also offering a volunteer opportunity for those who wish to get more involved.
