Track and Trail River Camp

Introduction

 

Track and Trail River Camp is a well-equipped camp, situated just 5 mins from the South Luangwa National Park main gates. Specialising in Photographic Safaris the camp offers comfortable accommodation from which to explore the wilderness. The grounds are often host to Elephants and wandering Giraffes. An elevated swimming pool overlooks the river, ideal for relaxing around. Centrally located is the lounge and restaurant area, offering a diverse selection of International and Pan-African foods. For the more daring, try the table BBQ and create your own culinary delights. On site there is a laundry service, under thatch gymnasium and a spa. 

 

Accommodation

Four double storey chalets of rustic design are split into 2 x family friendly accommodation each with a double bedroom downstairs and a bedroom with twin beds upstairs, or 2 x split level chalet with double bed downstairs and a sitting area upstairs with doors onto a private balcony. Each has an en-suite bathroom, river views, tea & coffee making facilities, electric fans, personal safe and king size mosquito nets. 

 

There are three single storey chalets nestled along the river front, one of which has 2 bedrooms. With private verandas and spacious bedroom with sitting area, each has an en-suite bathroom, electric fan and safe. For additional comfort they also have mosquito netting and tea & coffee making facilities. 

 

For the romantic there are two elevated chalets, each with a private veranda which leads to the sitting and sleeping area. Furnished and decorated with locally sourced materials in an African design, creating an atmosphere of being at one with the surroundings. Each has a king size bed, fan, mosquito netting, personal safe, tea & coffee making facilities and en-suite bathroom. 

Additionally a campsite is available for those bringing their own equipment. Each ‘spot’ has its own BBQ island and running cold water and a Mopani light. A shared washing block and several covered summer huts for privacy and shade. 2 x 4 metre high platforms offer a new perspective of sleeping out under the stars.

The Lime Tree Lounge and restaurant offers a range of international cuisine and pan-African dishes. Enjoy the camp ‘signature’ drink at the bar or enjoy sharing your stories around the camp fire.

Challenge your artistic side with a photographic safari. The camp vehicles are designed for ease of photography and with guides selected to capture the best of scenery and lighting. Partake in a game drive, experience the renowned walking safari or broaden your horizons with a cultural visit to a local village. Or simply make the most of the camp swimming pool, spa and gymnasium.
